Method
How a record is built.
Every field carries a value, a source, a check date and a status. This is how those four things are decided.
Step 1
Four things per field
Every field on a broker record carries four things: the value, the page it came from, the date that page was read, and a status. The status is verified, unverified, or pending.
Step 2
What verified means
Verified means someone on this desk opened the linked page and the value is what that page said. The source kind says whether the page was a regulator, a company registry, the broker, or a filing. A broker’s own page can verify what the broker claims. It does not, by itself, verify that a regulator still lists the firm.
Step 3
Pending is not zero
Pending means the field is part of the model and we do not have a citable value. The screen says “Pending verification”. It does not say zero, and it does not say the broker lacks the thing. Unverified is reserved for a value that is being shown before the check is finished. This first set of records does not use it.
Step 4
MEBIS score weights
The Market Explain Broker Intelligence Score runs from 0 to 100. Its weights are: regulation 25, transparency 15, trading conditions 15, withdrawal reliability 15, execution quality 10, customer experience 10, technology 5, complaint handling 5. Each part is scored only from verified fields on the record. Today it measures how much is documented, such as verified licences, client-money protections, listed conditions, support channels and platforms. It does not yet measure live costs or how traders were treated.
Step 5
Missing data rule
If a part has no verified input, it is left out, not scored as zero. Withdrawal reliability, execution quality and complaint handling have no data yet for any broker, so they are always left out for now. If the parts with data add up to less than 60 percent of the total weight, the broker shows “Not yet rated” instead of a number. Advertising and sponsored seats are not inputs to the score in any way.
Step 6
Sponsored is advertising
Sponsored positions are a commercial product with a rate card: 5,000 dollars for seats 1 to 3, and 2,000 dollars for seats 4 to 10. They rotate inside the tier on the UTC date, with a fixed shuffle, so the same day always produces the same order. The brokers in this preview were placed in sample pools so the shuffle can be seen. They did not buy the seats. A seat cannot edit a licence or a score.
Step 7
Empty on purpose
Live spreads, news and the forum are intentionally empty. A failed or missing feed is shown as missing. Calculators run in the browser from the formulas printed under the result.
Step 8
Records go stale
The records in this version were read on 2 November 2026. They will go stale. The date on each field is there so a stale sentence cannot pretend to be current.
