  1. 01One node per country named in a licence record. Areas such as Dubai (DIFC) and Abu Dhabi (ADGM) fold into the United Arab Emirates, and the area is listed in the detail panel.
  2. 02Node positions are approximate capitals or financial centres, not office addresses. Where two nodes would overlap they are nudged apart, and a dotted leader line points back to the true position.
  3. 03Node area grows with the number of licence records (radius 6 + 3.2 × √n map units). Colour is the best regulator tier in that country, using the editorial tiers on the Regulators page. Regulators missing from the reference set are drawn as unclassified.
  4. 04Only licences we opened a source for are on file. A country whose licences are all still pending verification is drawn hollow. Its licences are listed but never counted as verified.
  5. 05An arc joins two countries when at least one broker has licence records in both. Line weight is the number of shared brokers. By default only arcs shared by two or more brokers are shown; select a node to see all of its arcs.
  6. 06Register-checked means the licence number was read on the regulator's own register. Otherwise the number comes from the broker's own disclosure, and the source link says which.
